Having earned rave reviews with his contemporary interpretation of authentic Indian food at Cinnamon Club and Cinnamon Kitchen, chef Vivek Singh’s third restaurant has been conceived to move the goalposts once again.
Cinnamon Soho is the chef’s first foray into the West End and joins the burgeoning ‘trendy’ dining scene surrounding Soho and the fashionable cobbles of Carnaby Street. Ensuring that it appeals to the marketing and media types that have made the area their workspace, Cinnamon Soho provides a lively and colourful space in which to grab a quick bite or a laid back dinner.
The menu takes its inspiration from current food trends and combines modern Indian fare with an unexpected nod to British favourites. Dishes getting food fiends hot under the collar include a range of Indian inspired ‘balls’, including an incredible Bangla Scotch Egg and a deeply flavoursome Mixed game ball. Those after heartier options can cosset their appetites with a range of pies, including a Roganjosh Shepherd’s Pie and Keralan Seafood Pie. Even burgers and pizzas make an appearance on the menu, albeit with an Indian twist. For those who prefer a more traditional Indian meal aren’t left out either, with a range of more conventional dishes also available including Vindaloo ox-cheek, Chicken biryani and Tandoori king prawns.
With some keen pricing and the allure of a few Indian inspired cocktails, Cinnamon Soho provides the perfect place to spice up lunchtimes and evenings in Soho.
