Led by its executive chef, Nacho Manzano of 2 Michelin starred Casa Marcial in Spain, Iberica Canary Wharf serves a mixture of tapas that celebrates both the tradition of Spanish gastronomy as well as the modern styles. In keeping with the ethos of the original, Iberica Canary Wharf champions the best of Spanish produce, and in this respect it certainly doesn’t disappoint.
Classic Spanish favourites such as Jamon Iberico – available in three different styles, ranging from sweet to rich and nutty – arrive ready to melt in the mouth. Similarly, other Spanish favourites, such as the Patatas bravas and Croquettes are perfect to nibble on. Truly outstanding are the Black rice with cuttlefish, prawns & alioli and the Iberica burger with secreto pork loin & Piparras peppers. For something a little different, the Gazpacho of red berries, beetroot & anchovy does a great job of tickling the tastebuds with its intriguing but successful combination of sweet and savoury flavours. The UK’s growing number of Spanish wine fans will also be impressed by the extensive choice, with many bottles exclusive to Iberica.
The interior is the perfect tonic for the depressing and high-pressure environment outside its doors. With the air of a modern converted warehouse with high ceilings, painted Spanish floor tiles, exposed brick and a kitchen visible from the main dining room, Iberica does a great job of helping guests put the dreary world of Canary Wharf behind them.
