Donate £5 to Age UK and enjoy the most fun you’ve had all year – a free-for-all food fight at the Future Gallery in Leicester Square. Your night starts with a spotless hall, a cupcake covered Christmas tree and two long dining tables. You enjoy a civilized drink, a bit of chat and then… FOOD FIGHTTTT !!!!  Brussels sprouts, custard, mashed potato… All provided for free for your throwing pleasure!  Doors open at 7pm, the first fight is organized for 8pm and it’s open until midnight for drinks. Forget about the calories when you’re picking up your morning coffee this Christmas and grab yourself some of the festive treats that Costa Coffee have come up with.They’ve been working overtime to create some truly delicious cakes and pastries that wouldn’t look out of place in a boutique bakery.  Our faves are the Black Forest Cupcake, which comes filled with cherry sauce and topped with a smooth cream-cheese frosting; and their Mince Tarts made with crisp golden pastry and filled with rich fruity mincemeat, which really are some of the best we have tried this season.  www.costa.co.uk

Run by knowledgeable beer enthusiasts and with a focus on artisan independent suppliers and producers, Mason & Taylor will sell only the best in craft beers, spirits and English wines whilst also serving classic British food until late in the evening.  Drinks enthusiasts in particular will revel in brands such as Sipsmith, Camden Town Brewery and a host of craft American beers.  The food menu is largely made up of smaller sharing-style dishes, with an emphasis on seasonality and local produce.  www.masonandtaylor.co.uk

Peter Gordon, renowned ‘godfather’ of fusion cuisine, has joined forces with Providores founder Michael McGrath for the launch Kopapa in Covent Garden. The new restaurant offers dishes from breakfast through to dinner influenced by Peter’s extensive travels, including Turkish eggs – poached eggs with whipped yoghurt & hot chilli butter; Japanese inspired Tuna with nori sauce, dashi jelly and jicama slaw; and New Zealand lamb chops on smoked sweet potato mash.  The design is also internationally inspired, from the artisan Turkish floor tiles to the Autobahn designed bench seats. www.kopapa.co.uk

Namaaste Kitchen, NW1

Namaaste Kitchen provides an Asian twist to the increasing trend of grill based restaurants.  The focal point of the restaurant and bar is a show kitchen where diners can view the chefs at work at the grill. The menu specialises in Indian and Pakistani grills with dishes cooked in the tandoor clay oven, on the sigri oven over a coal flame and on a tawa (a hot iron griddle plate). Dishes include Whole Baked Sea Bass Marinated in Raw Coastal Spices; Wild Rabbit Leg Achari; and traditional Lamb Barra Kebabs. www.namaastekitchen.co.uk

Christmas Day is hectic enough without having to worry about catering for lots of fussy eaters.  For families who can’t decide over their bird of choice comes the Three Bird Roast.  Created for Sainsbury’s by renowned poultry specialists, Gressingham, theThree Bird Roast consists of boneless free-range bronze turkey breast, free-range guinea fowl, the famous Gressingham Duck, and a festive pork, apricot, cranberry, cherry and sherry stuffing. Just pop it in the oven and let it cook away as you sit back, relax and cheat your way to Christmas dinner success.  Around £42 to feed around 8 people from Sainsbury’s.

No Christmas lunch is complete without a spoonful or two of deliciously hot and crispy sausage meat.  Famous for their award-winning and ethically-sourced sausages, Debbie & Andrew’s has launched its festive inspired Christmas Sausage Meat, seasoned with leek, onion and subtle spices.  As with all of their products, the meat is made exclusively from pork shoulder for a leaner and more flavoursome sausage. Lucullus Confits for cheese

Move aside cheese with crackers and make way for artisan-made fruit and wine confits – an interesting range of confits created to compliment specific cheese varieties.  Not to be confused with confits of duck or pork, but nonetheless a way of preserving flavour, confits for cheese have been a sensation in France for the last decade.  The range includes Morello Cherry & Port Confit for Comté and Reblochon, a Sauternes Confit to match with Roquefort and a St Emilion Confit for cheeses like Ossau-Iraty and the Petit-Basque.  Available for £1.99/100g from Waitrose cheese counters.
