Neapolitan, thin crust, bianco, deep pan, sourdough, by the slice, microwave in a moment, stone baked with or with out anchovies – everybody knows what they like and with so much on offer the world of Pizza deserves inspection. Ask almost anyone, young, old, rich, poor gastronaut or junk food fiend you’ll hard pushed to find a true pizza hater. Ever since the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles introduced the concept of pizza to me I been a total fan. US pizza culture is simply astonishing and its ripple effect has been felt over here for years but with so many recent new openings it seems a new dawn has begun for the UK pizza culture. You definitely need to visit Santa Maria in Ealing. I am officially laying down the gauntlet that it’s the best pizza outside of Napoli. Harrods comes a close second but at around £5 for a pizza, Santa Maria’s easily the best value, and you get a bit of flirtation from the pizzaioli to boot!
